Not a lot happened on "Ner Tamid." There was needless drama that had very little significance to the overall arc, and the episode ended just when things got interesting.
September 03, 2019
It's all contrived. You could probably boil down the entire 12 episodes we've seen so far into two and not lose anything.
September 03, 2019
That's representation. Particularly for Walking Dead's audience, which certainly spans the spectrum but errs on the side of a more rural fandom, it's lovely to see not one, but two positive portrayals of Jews on screen.
September 03, 2019
"Ner Tamid" gets bogged down by unintentionally silly moments that go against the grain of this show's DNA. The episode's not "San Antonio split" bad, or even "beer-shaped hot-air balloon" bad, but it's pretty darn close.

The introduction of Rabbi Kessner is an interesting one that Father Gore is excited about, and now that Logan is amping up the intensity there's bound to more wild confrontations ahead for our group of survivors.

Every episode of Fear the Walking Dead has one thing you never thought you'd see.
September 03, 2019
With "Ner Tamid," Fear the Walking Dead continues its unfortunate streak of clumsily-executed fifth-season episodes.
September 03, 2019
The Walking Dead spin-off gets its own Father Gabriel, a character who's somehow even more boring and haphazardly conceived.
September 03, 2019
"Ner Tamid" was filled to the brim with standard cliches that they could've done without.
September 03, 2019
It's like, the writers are reintroducing the characters all over again. We know who they are and it's frustrating to watch them make rookie mistakes at this point in the story.
September 03, 2019
The execution just isn't there. The acting and plot are compelling, but the story feels like filler.
September 30, 2019
"Ner Tamid" kept the cold streak of bad episodes intact. The most frustrating aspect is how simple some of this would be to address if the characters didn't continually make such dumb decisions.
