Scream Queens - Season 1 Episode 03: Chainsaw
Wallace University is rocked by a string of murders. All hell is about to break loose at Wallace University where, 20 years after a tragedy, a killer begins targeting the sisters of Kappa House. Part black comedy, part slasher flick, Scream Queens is a modern take on the classic whodunit, in which every character has a motive for murder... Or could easily be the next blood-soaked casualty.

This week's "Chainsaw" greatly decreases the mean-spirited parts, and while it's not all completely on point tone-wise (Wes and Pete may not actually know what show they're a part of), it's better.

Yet, despite his dimwittedness (or perhaps because of it), douchey Chad is the catalyst for a couple of significant events this episode.

Still, the humor remains biting and hilarious and the cast delivers committed, clever performances, and Scream Queens remains a joy to watch.

I am just going to enjoy this fuzzy confection for what it is - a parade of faux fur and silly deaths - and not look too deeply into what is going on.

Oh, Scream Queens episode three. What a strange, funny little episode you were. How little you developed plot. How offensive your jokes are. But how I enjoyed you.

"Chainsaw" was nevertheless filled with plenty of snarky and absurdist moments that will remain the number-one reason we come back week after week, story lines be damned.

Chanel prepares to continue the Hell Week festivities only to find out that Dean Munsch and Gigi... (the continually delightful Nasim Pedrad) are moving into the house for a week to keep an eye on the girls. Now, this is a plot point I can get behind.

"Chainsaw" seemed faster and fresher and left me wanting more, whereas the double-episode premiere I remember as being somehow eight or 12 hours long.

I'll confess, I have completely fallen for the tone of this show. It's so delightfully silly.
