Helix - Season 2
The second season dates back to a strong and different event. Peter Faragot, Sarah Jordan and Dr. Kyle Sommer go to a mysterious island to investigate the causes of unknown diseases that have killed everyone, except Leila, on the Avalon fog. On the other hand, a sick child appears as the team investigates the island, but Sarah suspects something is wrong when the child miraculously recovers; Julia and Caleb discover the mystery of the island when Alan's tomb is being dug.

Helix does a fine job of creating a creepy vibe in its second-season opener, and though a lot of information from the first season has to be re-established, the drama hits the ground running and quickly builds up an effectively mysterious atmosphere.

This episode was delightfully confusing and intriguing. There are a ton of new questions/mysteries.

Helix is the stoned college sophomore of television: full of weighty philosophical notions and fun ideas, but no clue how to explain them or execute its plans.

The new location and vastly different stakes have really given the show a breath of fresh air, and have created an environment where Helix could, in theory, go on for many more seasons.

While this show is known for its insane twists and turns, Helix Season 2 Episode 1 definitely takes the cake... I love that the second season feels like a reboot.
