A series of dramatic dramas within this exciting series. The series begins with Kate Nixon, who tries to reconcile her children, her school and her sick husband, and may be tired as she tries to raise her family in West-port. On the other hand, Kate Cat presents a great picture of Katie in the school art show, but Katie tries to retrieve that image. On the other hand, Greg is elected to the PTA and Kate competes strongly in West-port Halloween 'Zombie Run'.

Stereotyping is stereotyping, regardless of which direction the needle tilts on the scale, and it sends all kinds of worrisome messages about self-esteem by putting this issue at the forefront of this show.

Mixon is entertaining in the role, particularly when she deploys her sarcastic wit against both her tormentors and her children. And she's surrounded by a solid, if not dazzling, supporting cast.

I really did love this show as I stuffed several Domino's marbled cookie brownies into my face and laughed at everything Katy Mixon said. This review is both an endorsement for this show and for Domino's marbled cookie brownies.

The "fat" stuff is way overdone, but Bader and Mixon are good. Otherwise, your watchwords are: too soon to tell.

Like many pilots nowadays, American Housewife is bolstered by an energetic lead performance - the wonderful Katy Mixon - but without real bite or insight, the show seeps into an indistinct "quirky" sitcom background pretty quickly.

The pilot veers towards breaking the fourth wall and being far too preachy towards the end, though, which doesn't serve it well.

Mixon's casting would have been much more meaningful had her show more frequently let her form speak for itself. American Housewife's star, so far, is Katie's weight-and a number is a pretty boring premise for a story.
