If you can overlook the preposterous science behind the plot, the implications of such an event do make for some decent drama.

Despite the promise of thrilling animal action, CBS's Zoo feels more like a roadside tourist trap than a full-fledged wildlife attraction.

Zoo, based on the best-selling 2012 novel by James Patterson and Michael Ledwidge, is locked up in cliches, tedium and barely believable bipeds.

Zoo is an entertaining wild-animals-scare-the-dung-out-of-humans adventure series that's made for pure summer escapism.

It's neat that CBS is supporting shows like these; at least, during the summer.
