The second season of the parody TV series Veep which pursues Selina Meyer who is a former Senator and the current Vice President of the United States. Since the day she landed this position, Selina has trusted that this job doesn't appear to be as she anticipated. The opening of this season is with Amy choosing something imperative. This last batch of episodes refocuses by turning to the singularly ridiculous process of launching a presidential campaign - a smart pivot that suits the show well, especially for a final season.March 29, 2019
These last Veep episodes feel like a respite from even thinking about our present reality. It's certainly funnier than reality.March 29, 2019
Veep is still as hilariously cutting as ever. Its performances are fantastic, its rhythm and density are unparalleled, and its sense of the absurd is still sharp.March 29, 2019
In its last hurrah, Veep is an unimpeachable hoot.March 29, 2019
Veep works on a much deeper and more cynical level; I can imagine no sadder way to watch it than to compare and contrast it to the comedy of errors America has endured since the 2016 election.March 29, 2019
At this point in the show's run and our democracy's wobbles, Veep doesn't simply evoke real life. Real life inevitably evokes Veep.March 29, 2019
Not everything is perfect in this final season... but its acknowledgement of the foibles of its leads in meta terms reminds us that this is a show that exists on its own terms.March 29, 2019
I'll miss Veep's prickly patter when it's gone, but I appreciate that, like Louis-Dreyfus's Seinfeld before it, the show aims to quit while it's ahead.March 25, 2019
The politicians are still nasty, fire-breathing monsters, but "Veep's" sharp satire manages to expand the fire pit without dulling the flames.March 28, 2019
A joyful, wild, hilarious, insane -- and darker -- romp through the debasement of running for political office, as only "Veep" could imagine.
