Bartlett is, however, a very good writer, and I sense the drama will ramp up soon as Allen's and Evans's paths intertwine a little bit more.

My God, Chaplin's performance is brilliant: Shakespearean, you might say. Even as his character repulses, he attracts, which is just as it should be.
