"The Lost Apostle" is a rare hour of television that somehow manages to be action-packed and full of great character moments while not feeling overstuffed or bloated. It's a perfect signature blend that makes Preacher so great.

It's watchable, it really is, and for a while, I was wondering if maybe I was being too hard on earlier episodes of the season... [but] I do think the show is stumbling over itself as it rushes to the finish line.

Of all the pairings of characters on Preacher, and this episode is clearly divided into pairs, it's the pairing of Tulip and Cassidy that fares the best during the episode. Watching the two rampage across Melbourne is just a treat to behold.

"The Lost Apostle" has a lot of great stuff in it. It's wonderfully made, capitalizing on the dark sense of humor and required visuals to show off the tone the series has continuously gone after.

To be honest, Season 4 is shaping up to be Preacher's best season yet.

Not that The Last Apostle is bad by any means just average which is worse than it sounds for something so fundamentally original.
