When one of the medium's finest writers (series creator Tom Fontana) gets behind a series, it's not a bad idea to pay attention. But as a Copper newbie, I'm still struggling to figure out what all the love was about last season.

This episode is Copper at its liveliest, because the manhunt for a rampaging killer, while not exactly a model of narrative intricacy, crowds out most everything else and generates some excitement.

As with the first season, Corcoran remains at the heart of the show, and Weston-Jones' portrayal makes the detective a new TV hero worth rooting for.
