The new season begins, when a selfish filmmaker uses his mastery of the special effects of killing a friend. There appears to be a mysterious secret, as the director's role in the friend's sister's trick film discovers years ago, while a re-thought is needed. Meanwhile, a sex sign is shown that picks up a boyfriend with another woman when he thinks she is out of town.

Though somewhat repetitive, with scripts at times reworking characters and situations done before, and despite a dearth of big-name guest stars, [Peter] Falk's endearing characterization holds it all together.
