A dj from Glasgow Scotland loses his shoplifting girlfriend and then becomes involved with a couple of mafia clans who are in the midst of warring over territorial rights for their businesses. Somehow by shows end he seems to come up smelling like a rose

Like most Forsyth films, Comfort and Joy is warm and gentle without being cloying or maudlin. And it somehow avoids off-putting levels of cynicism. Like its main character, Alan, it's just the right amount of not important.March 01, 2016
