When I was 21 years old, Tom Gries had given me my first acting job so I could receive my Screen Actors Guild Card. I was so excited. I wept I worked at getting that card for 4 years. When the film was finished in December 1976 He said to me, After the Holidays get in touch with me when you get back to Los Angeles. My first and only great contact. When I called to tell him I had arrived...I was told he died the day before. It was January 1977. He was 55 years old. I will never forget his kindness to me. Completely Unpretentious.
