Incredibly funny and goofy, only to turn around and hit you with an emotional gut punch that you're somehow never ready for, even if you know it's coming.

For me, Enlisted's charm is its ability to organically blend serious plotlines with goofball humour, and to generate laughs out of the most innocuous subjects.

It's not really funny, and there are few jokes any funnier. Since it's been relegated to Friday night, it's obvious Fox hasn't much hope for Enlisted, and it shouldn't.

With all the serial killers and groups of adults who clearly hate each other crowding up the television landscape, it's always nice to see a show as openly optimistic and cathartic as Enlisted.

It's been a long time since M*A*S*H, and Enlisted's ripe, absurd comic situations make you question why more sitcoms aren't set in the military.
