Donald tries to prove to himself every time that he is able to get out safely from the sea and he thinks that he is a skilled sailor who can pass from the most difficult positions and get out safely. Can Donald do that or do the waves of the sea see another?

His story is a compelling one, but the film that tells the story doesn't do it full justice. It will be interesting to see if a rival film, Crowhurst, which was made on a much smaller budget, is more successful in this respect.

The heart-breaking true story of British amateur sailor Donald Crowhurst is told here in painstaking detail by director James Marsh who has succeeded in bringing us the saddest film we've seen in yonks. Nobody does noble failure like the Brits.
