The Karate Kid (1984)
Newly arrived in California from New Jersey, teenager Daniel almost immediately runs afoul of karate-trained high school bullies. Determined to stick up for himself, Daniel begins to teach himself karate. Then, a Japanese handyman named Keusuke Miyagi comes to aid Daniel, teach him and show him that there is more to the martial art than fighting.
