The Festival
Nick found himself convinced that his life was over when he collapsed completely in front of the university when he failed. His companion Shane seems to have the best solution. Chen suggested spending three days at an epic music festival with the help of 'The Gift of the Festival' and 'The Stranger' Amy in order to help Nick out of his bad condition. Chen tries to make Nick embrace music, chaos, mud and many other fun actions.

Production values aren't high but with Inbetweeners star Joe Thomas leading a well-chosen cast there is fun to be had amid the mud, madness and drugged-up Smurfs.

The main insight provided here is that festival going is a mixture of heaven and hell.

Not exactly groundbreaking comedy, but Morris clearly knows his youthful audience demographic well, playing on their hang-ups as much as their aspirations.

It's the specificity of the stereotypes that Morris hangs out to dry that make the film so funny.

Play[s] the crude shock value card with swaggering confidence, while there's just enough sprinkling of weirdness and endearing sweetness to balance things out.

The Festival can't get out of the shadow of The Inbetweeners, but it's well worth a watch for all fans of the series.

Watchable, but unforgivably derivative - was it not a bit early to have a remake of The Inbetweeners Movie?
