Going in the distant village of Rockwell Falls, North Dakota, Steve Kady, an intelligent census employer, who has been sent to investigate in the numbers of inhabitants there, who are still 436 for about one hundred year, struggles against coping with the challenges and mysteries there, that threatens his life.
