A serene man, named Prot, at a mental hospital bits that his origin is not from the earth but from K-Pax, which is 1000 light years far from the earth, he tries to convince staff and patients in the hospital that he is alien but no one believes him, finally Dr. Powel, who is his psychiatric, doubts in his own diagnosis and reveal his true origins.
