Garfield
The movie follows the exploits of Garfield (Bill Murray), the large, lazy and wisecracking cat owned by hapless Jon Arbuckle (Breckin Meyer). When Jon's second pet, a dog named Odie, is abducted, it is up to Garfield, to find and rescue the canine.

Garfield is a cool cat with attitude, yet his debut on the big screen falls short by more than a whisker largely due to a script that relies on novelty value rather than fresh ideas.January 17, 2016
I felt the same misery, despair, offense and nausea while watching this film as I did The Cat in the Hat.April 29, 2009

Though Garfield runs barely 80 minutes, it seems a good hour of it involves chases, furniture and luggage collapsing, and grown-up actors madly mugging.December 24, 2010
Cat-astrophic for adults, but kids will love it.June 24, 2006
Without Murray, the film would have much less appeal.June 11, 2004
There's nothing to recommend about this film except its sheer innocuousness.June 11, 2004
Bland, workmanlike and instantly forgettable.June 14, 2004
... a film without energy and without spirit.June 15, 2004
No one can accuse Garfield: The Movie of infidelity to its source: It faithfully conveys the banality of Jim Davis's cartoon.
