This inspiring tale based on the early life of the living legend Dolly Parton in 1950s . Dolly's childhood got a lot of difficulties. Dolly's family stand against these hard circumstances with the power of love and faith. Their suffering inspired Dolly to become who is she today . This movie name was inspired by her raggedy coat, which her another sewed with love but she was shocked with the other children react with her .She didn't let anything destroy her and used it to become the future superstar of country music .

It's refreshing to see such an unsanitized story of faith, family love, and overcoming adversity.

Although it's a struggle at times, you do suspend disbelief and go with it because Lind is so adorable, and you want to accept that the saccharine story line could have played out in real life just the way it's depicted in the film.

The story is a sweet one, and Coat of Many Colors does what it does very well.
