In the first part, Andy Barclay was placed in a foster care home and his mother entered the sanatorium. The producing company of Chucky decided to reassemble the doll to prove to the audience that she was an ordinary doll and that the rumors about Chucky were wrong. Chucky's spirit returned and settled, seeking to kill Andy and his sister.
