After traveling the world as an international model and graduating with an honors business degree, Happel moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the entertainment world.Happel wrote, produced, and directed a short film, Fairy Tale Follies. Among numerous festival wins, Happel won "Best Director" at the New York Downtown Short Film Festival and "Best Short Film" at the Real to Reel Film Festival.Happel followed the success of her short film by writing, producing, and directing a theatrical play entitled Modelogues. Modelogues is inspired by Happel's life experience as a fashion model. Modelogues ran in Hollywood, California at The Complex Theater on Theater Row to rave reviews.
