Joel is originally from Nashville, Tennessee. He started the theatre company, Off Hollywood in Los Angeles with co-founders, C. Stephen Foster and Christopher Reidy. Joel acted in many original plays including, "The Son'll Come Out Tomorrow", "The Tippi Trap", "Troggie Dearest" and his own plays, "Mrs. Beasley" and "Touch".Joel also starred in the web series, "What's My Intention?" that he co-wrote with C. Stephen Foster. He also wrote a graphic novel, "Welcome To Nursing HELLo, a Graphic Memoir" about his adventures in his second favorite career, nursing with acting being his favorite career.He is a naked extra in the movie, "Sordid Lives".
