Born in Chicago, Illinois, Genevieve Levin was raised in the nearby suburb of Palatine. She began doing theatre as a small child and has simply never stopped. When it came time to choose her career path, there really wasn't a choice: she went to Illinois Wesleyan University on a National Merit Scholarship and walked out four years later with a degree in performance.For a few years after that, she worked with various theatres downtown and around the Chicago area, and in 2005 she rolled the dice and moved to Los Angeles.
