Bruce was born in Los Angeles originally as Bruce Stephen Swetow to parents Earl and Emmeline. He grew up in the neighborhood of Westwood just across from UCLA. Bruce has a BA in Economics from UCLA and an MBA in marketing and behavioral science from The University of Chicago. After moving to New York, he changed his name after having been teased as a child, using his middle name instead.Bruce has worked in advertising and film production, and eventually became a computer programmer for several banks and financial firms.
